Frankly, I'm amazed at how the prices fluctuate virtually daily on the Hitachi/Tanaka trimmer twins (yes, they are exactly the same except for the colors of their motor housings and string trimmer guard down at the business end of the trimmer).

The Hitachis are generally about $15-30 cheaper than the Tanakas, but on any given day, that differential will change.

Another thing, for some reason, Amazon has removed the links to the $20 Hitachi mail-in rebate form (although they still have the links on the pages of the Tanaka trimmers; go figure).

SO, if you don't mind getting a curved shaft (versus the straight, solid-shaft) Hitachi-branded trimmer, you will not be able to beat today's price. As I'm writing this, today's price is $1 3 9. 99 before rebate. Do a google search for "Hitachi trimmer 2011 rebate" to find and print out a copy of the rebate form, good through June 30th purchases, and you will get this great trimmer for less than $1 2 0!

It uses the same engine as the $40+ more expensive straight shaft model. The basic differences? The straight shaft model has a solid steel drive shaft connecting the engine to the transfer gear housing at the trimmer head end. The curved shaft models have to use a flexible drive cable because of the curved shaft.

The operational differences? People say the straight shaft trimmers give you better reach into and under things like wooden fence lower railings, raised decks, swing sets, etc. Also, the straight shafts are longer and put you the operator a little further back from the action (and things that fly out because of that action).

People also say that the solid steel straight shafts have more cutting torque at the head due to less give compared to a flexible cable shaft, plus people believe a solid steel shaft will last longer.

The possible downsides? The longer straight shaft puts you further back from the action so you can't see quite as well at the trimmer head to make finer position adjustments to get the exact cut and control you want (i.e., when using the trimmer in a 90 degree mode to act as a driveway or sidewalk edger).

Also, the straight shaft puts you not only further back, but it also puts you at a different position than a curved shaft - with the curved shaft you're more "on top" of the action. When using a curved shaft trimmer in the 90 degree position for edging, you're also in a better viewing position to fine-tune the cutting than you would be with a long straight shaft trimmer.

Finally, straight shaft trimmers have heads turning in the counter-clockwise direction - opposite from curved shaft trimmers. That can take some getting used to. Early on, you will find yourself being pelted by debris because you're not used to the different head rotation and find yourself being in the path of thrown debris when you try to use the straight shaft model exactly how you used to use your curved shaft trimmer.

If you can live with all of these changes, then you will NOT find another such high-quality trimmer for anywhere this no-tax, free shipping, price! Don't delay, the Amazon price is likely to change within hours...

King KCV2407 700-Watt 240-Volt 59-Inch Convection Radiant Cove Heater, Almond Review

This item looks better than the Amazon picture shows, it is lighter colored. Also the description is not correct - there is no fan on this heater (I haven't seen a fan on a cove heater before, so that would have suprised me anyway).

The heater functions like other cove heaters I have experienced. It is a mild heat, the heater itself does not get very hot, but works well to raise the temperature in my basement office from 60 to 75 (10'x14' room). I would recommend 240v for heaters since 120v is just not enough wattage, and will struggle to heat all but the smallest spaces. Also get the longest cove heater you can fit on your wall. This 59" heater is minimum for my size room, but this is all the space I had to allow clearance with a door and smoke alarm.

I have experience with both Cove heaters and Baseboard heaters. Baseboard heaters are cheaper, and may perform a little better for the same size, but Cove heaters work better in rooms where you don't want a heater down low behind furniture - so makes it more flexible to arrange the room. Cove heaters also tend to radiate heat down so feel warm when in front of it. Both heater types need to be left 'on' with a thermostat control, as the recover time is long (they don't work well to quickly bring the room temperature up, but will hold the room at a comfortable temperature if left on). The only down-side to both heaters is you will have to plan ahead when finishing the room to run wires from the service panel in your home to the location. They are easy to install if you plan ahead, but not easy to install after the room is finished.

Overall I am happy with this heater's appearance, and o.k. with it's performance.

I ordered another one with Z-Wave and returned it because the light turned red after 15 minutes meaning low battery. Then I ordered this one (cheaper). The only difference is it did not come with the z-wave module because I did not pay for it. Everything looks identical which means there is a compartment for the module and I can buy one and add it on later if I want to. Again the same problem is the red light. Because I really like this lock, I kept it. It has been one month now, it is still locking automatically though it is suggesting that the battery is low (when the light is red). I will try to update the info about how long the battery actually last. If the battery can last for 3 months, I will raise its rating by 1 star. Even it can last more than 3 months, I still won't give it 5 stars because it gives out wrong info about the battery life.

Update 2/17/2013: the light is still red but it is still working without replacing the battery so far. Will update after 3 more months. One thing is important to clarify that I open and shut my doors totally 4-6 times a day only, it is kind of light usage.

Although I didn't purchase this on Amazon (wish I did because the price is lower!), I did buy THREE of these; that's how much I love this faucet and soap dispenser. The first one was for a second home remodel, and it has worked so well I am putting it in the kitchen and laundry room at my main home currently undergoing a remodel. It is beautiful, and goes perfectly with my hot/cold filtered water dispenser. One great thing I love is that when you use the spray button, after you turn off the water it reverts to the regular spout, so no surprises next time you use it. ;-)

This faucet and soap dispenser are solidly built, and I love that the soap dispenser is all brass - no cheap plastic bottle. When you take the faucet out of the box, it feels super hefty, almost too heavy, but when you have it installed it is a delight in your hand. The pull out hose is also well made, not plastic like some, and doesn't tangle or kink. And it is a good length.

I have tried faucets that have the handle to one side, and find those awkward, especially if you are left-handed, or right handed but holding a dish or glass in your right hand. I like the handle in the middle, and I will only ever have single handle faucets. I don't know why anyone would ever want to have separate hot/cold taps when you can have a single handle do it all.

I have extensive remodel experience and love practical as well as beautiful and functional things, and this faucet is a winner!

I have bought 3 of these Progressive Lighting products. I have found them be of high quality, were easy to install, give off a good amount of light, and look nice too. Our home has 7'-7&1/2' ceilings so we wanted light fixtures with a relatively short depth. The depth from the ceiling to bottom of the center of the light is only 4". Franklin Iron Works Hickory Point 15" High Outdoor Light Review

We just received these lamps. Although the quality looks good (haven't installed them so I'll have review the electrical aspect later), these are sheet metal stampings...there's no "Iron"...so the name is just a sales gimmick.
Are they worth the $149 I paid for them...no. A reasonable price for a sheet metal lamp made in China should be about $75.00.

I'd definitely buy them again, IF they cost $75.00...I'd have second thoughts about spending almost $150 (EACH) on them....and even that was considerably marked down.
