Grip-Rite GR100 1HP 1 Gallon Portable Compressor Review

I actually bought the kit (GR100KIT2), but so far have used only the compressor, because I needed a slightly heavier gauge than the kit's nailer. I already had a Maxus 1 gal compressor (EX1001) and a Maxus 4 gal (EX8016) when I bought the Grip-Rite. The Grip-Rite has instantly become my favorite. It's really light, obviously. It's also really, really quiet; it's much quieter than the similar size Maxus I have. Instead of thinking of it as a noise heard all over the neighborhood, it's more like a substantial hum - not unpleasant to be around, even right next to it. And, unlike the two Maxus compressors, the regulator is easy to adjust, and once you adjust it it stays adjusted (and doesn't drift all over the place like the others I have do).

On the project I used it for I got about 10 shots on a 15 ga nailer. I also needed to use a framing nailer for just a few nails, and it was easiest to just try out the GR100, so I did. The framing nailer got about 4 shots per refill. (Both of these were on the kit hose, which is a 25' 1/4".)

I'll also add that I'm just a guy that does repairs on his own house. I was brought up to use hand tools, and didn't get a compressor/nail gun until a couple years ago. I should have. The speed and quality of your work improves markedly, especially if you're working alone and are in situations where two hands devoted to nailing leaves you short one to hold the material. For what I've done the last few years, the GR100 would have been just fine, and I should have skipped the 4 gal compressor that is too big to be quiet or portable and too small to do any kind of spraying.

Hansgrohe 10972821 Axor Starck Volume Control Trim, Brushed Nickel Review

Loving our new Hansgrohe. We purchased this for our new air tub along with the Axor tub spout 10942001 and the thermostatic mixer 10755001. It's all looks very nice and modern together...if that's a look you are seeking.
So far, this works very nicely and I like that it takes a bit to turn it, rather than very easily. This way, no one without a bit of muscle will be running any water. ;)

It is available with gages reading to 1000 lb, 2000 lb, or 5000 lb for 5th wheel trailers that typically carry a larger percentage of the overall weight on the gooseneck. Stop guessing and start towing safely. Reasonably priced for individual trailer owners. Great for travel clubs and trailer dealers too. The scale is machined from solid billet steel and aluminum. It has a 3.25" body diameter and is about 4.5" high without the included screw-on hitch extension. (6.75" with extension installed.) Actual weight is 4.4 lb. Gage diameter is 2.75".

Sherline LM 2000 - Trailer Tongue Weight Scale 2000lb Review

Lockey 2210DC Double Sided Adjustable Mechanical Deadbolt with Keyless Entry from the 2000 Ser, Antique Brass Review

This is a completely mechanical combination lock with no electronics or battery. I have used a single-sided version on a door to my garage for over 5 years. It is exposed to all weather and has worked absolutely flawlessly. There are no plastic parts, it is all metal. I purchased the double-sided version for a windowed back door. The double-sided version is identical to the single-sided versions except that it has two independent locking faces. Each can be set to a different combination, which is handy if you want a shorter code to allow quick exiting (especially in case of emergency) and perhaps a longer code for entry. My lock of over 5 years shows no wear. The key numbers are at the side of the buttons and will not be rubbed off. With no key (a keyed version is available) the lock is impossible to bump.

Installation is fairly straight forward for a handyman though it still took about 1 1/2 hours. I had to chisel out a rectangular recess for the bolt's face plate, drill an extra small hole through the door, set the combinations and install the two faces with both locks in consistent positions (either both locked or both open). Be careful when drilling the extra hole. I recommend installing the bolt first, then temporarily place the inside lock on the door and use that to guide the correct location of the extra hole; which is much more accurate than using the supplied paper template. Of course, before trying to install it on the door, put it together while uninstalled and check the operation so you understand how the parts must go together and indeed works when assembled. If it is assembled incorrectly, it will not work.

I got the antique brass version which looks beautiful on a white door.
