I have been searching for the perfect light fixture for my eat-in area for a year - this definitely is the answer! It is perfect! It is a great cross between modern and traditional - this will be in style for quite some time. It is very, very well made. The shade is a little darker than it looks in the picture, but it is still a very nice linen color.

The one hiccup we had was with the assembly - there are no fixture-specific instructions (just general installation instructions), so I had a little trouble figuring out how to get the poles to screw into the canopy (the screws are removable on some of the poles). Once we figured this out, it was very easy and straightforward to install.

I have 9 foot ceilings and I installed the fixture so that it hangs 30" above my table. It comes with several lengths of poles so you can combine them in any length that you might need.

Do not hesitate to purchase - also, the fixture was delivered a week before it was promised - great surprise!
