Well, at least rectangle is in. I installed these in all three of my re-modeled bathrooms and think they look great.
From a practical point-of-view, these are much easier to fabricate stone for - it wastes less stone as the leftover pieces are rectangular as well. These pieces could be used for many things such in-shower basins or even cutting boards (which is what I did).
But aesthetically speaking, these remind me of sinks that might be used in upscale restaurants or casinos...and quite frankly, aren't you kind of tired of seeing oval sinks all your life? I sure was.
