This is a great product & great system. There are several other brands that jumped on board to offer a track saw system, but I am not sure if they can make plunge cuts also, like the Festool. If you are using the TS 75 and you want to make rips in 4x8 ply, you can buy the 75" guide rail and link it up with the 55" rail that comes with the saw. You have to buy (2) connectors to make the link. Festool sells (1) connector per pack and they recommend (2); so this is a little cheezy on Festool's part. If they recommend 2 connectors, then put 2 in a pack!
The only few issues I have is when you link up two guide rails, you have to be sure they are perfectly square with each other. Doing this may take a few times of adjusting the connectors & retightening them. You would think it would automatically link up perfectly when you tighten the screws, but no, you have to mess with it a bit to get it perfect.
The other issue is setting the zero clearance splinter guard. If it is possible, you should link up the two rails together and cut the splinter guard for both rails at the same time to set the zero clearance. If you add on another guide rail after you have already cut the first splinter guard, it works best if you position the new, un-cut rail second and cut it this way. Make sure there is no space at all inbetween the connection of the rails, or it might throw off your cuts afterwards.

If you take these precautions, you should be fine linking up two guide rails for a straight cut. Probally the best is to use one long continuous rail, so you don't have any issues for long rips, but that method can be hard not being able to break it down going from job to job.
