I'm a flooring contractor of over 10 years and have done well over 1200 homes and businesses both myself and as a sand and finish manager for a major hardwood flooring company. Bona, is without a doubt the best water-based urethane on the market in my opinion. Time and time again, we have used Bona products on residential and commercial floors and found the product to be easy to apply, extremely durable, and very visually appealing. I'm noticing a great deal of reviews concerning the finish bonding to the wood or holding up to water and pet accidents. You MUST follow the manufacturer instructions regarding this finish. First you must make sure all existing finish is removed during a refinish job. Old oil based finish, or wax left by improper sanding creates a barrier between the Bona and the wood and does not allow it to properly bond. You must also SEAL or STAIN the floor in order to seal the wood before applying the topcoat, as wood is porous. With oil based urethanes, you can either seal them with a product such as Zinnser Bullseye, or just use the polyurethane to seal the wood, but oil based urethane is much thicker than water based. You MUST seal it first, preferably with Bona Prime. Assuming you seal the wood and have sanded it properly, then its just a matter of screening the finish with 150 grit or finer screens on a buffer and then cleaning the floor thoroughly with a vacuum and damp cloth, not a soaking wet mop. NEVER use mineral spirits, paint thinner, acetone, lacquer thinner, or any other solvent to clean the floor when using a water-based urethane. If you follow these instructions you should have absolutely no issue with a sealer coat and 2 topcoats, or 3 if it is a very high traffic area.
